Why I Swapped the PA Grind for Travel Planning

From "Holiday by Permission" to Diversified Income

I remember the physical knot in my stomach every time I wanted to book holiday- I had to confirm I’m allowed and adjust my days away.

For years, I lived in a world of holiday by permission. As a Personal Assistant, I was the architect of someone else’s life. I managed the calendars and the logistics, often at the expense of my own. I was constantly tired, frequently missing out on my kids growing up, and, ironically, sometimes too busy to even take a holiday myself.

Today, my mornings look a little different. I might be at my desk (part of my dining table, really) at 6:00 AM, fueled by a quiet house and a sudden burst of focus, curating a 10-day safari in Tanzania. By 10:00 AM, if I feel that familiar ADHD brain-fog creeping in, I don't have to "power through". I just put on my coat, go to the gym or for a walk, and reset.

I’ve finally reclaimed my time.

How did I get here?

The turning point came when a friend pointed out something blindingly obvious: I was already doing the work of a travel planner. As a PA or VA, we are the gold standard of logistics. We don’t just book a flight- we check the terminal, confirm the chauffeur’s name, and ensure the restaurant knows about the client’s allergy. I was doing all of this for a fixed pay while the travel industry was quietly generating commissions on every booking I made.

I took a leap. I invested in my own travel license, initially just hoping for a bit of "extra cash."

The result? My very first commission covered my entire yearly subscription. This is the "Ultimate Life Hack" for PAs and I had an urge to share!

Why I created this space

I know there are dozens of you out there- PAs, VAs, and coordinators, who are currently booking world-class travel for free.

You have the skills. You have the attention to detail. You have the network.

All you’re missing is the license to monetise what you already know. It’s all about having extra without spending more time on it.

Ready to stop booking for free? Get in touch to see how the license works.
